General
Pilates offers numerous benefits including improved flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips, and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body). It also enhances muscular control of your back and limbs, improves stabilization of your spine, and helps with rehabilitation or prevention of injuries related to muscle imbalances.
To prepare for a Pilates class,
• wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement,
• bring a water bottle,
• and a mat if you have one.
It's also a good idea to arrive a few minutes early to get settled and inform the instructor of any injuries or concerns.
